Chapter History

The Delta Psi chapter of Alpha Xi Delta represents a proud and well-established legacy of women at Texas State University. Our presence was first established at SWT in 1923 as an organization called "The Philosophians." In 1957, our dear Philosophians became a local sorority bearing the Greek letters "Phi Delta Gamma." As one of the very first Greek organizations at SWT to seek National affiliation, Delta Psi was colonized in 1965 as the 118th chapter of Alpha Xi Delta; a pioneer at SWT for Greek organizations seen on Texas State's campus today.
